halloween '14: #treats, #fambam, and #thewalkingdead

So E's been watching "The Walking Dead" with me lately and no matter how much warning I give him (that the show's too gruesome for kids his age), he still seems to "enjoy" the show. So naturally, it was no surprise that he wanted to dress up as a walker for Halloween this year. And since his mom is too busy lately to scout a budget-friendly costume, DIY it is. With an old white shirt and some makeup (powder, lipstick, eyeliner), E got the get up and look he wanted. :) I know it doesn't look much and nowhere close to the ones from the show but it was a start. And he was happy. Isn't that what this whole thing is about? Anyway, my siblings' kids also suited up. We had a zombie, a princess, a superhero, a cute version of mickey mouse, a korean schoolgirl, a pirate-ish, and of course a cute little devil slash red riding hood. So yeah, we had the whole gang. ;) Btw, the little devil/red riding hood was E's first halloween costume when...

Bonding Time!

After a few months of busy weekends and low cash, Ezra and I finally went out again for some Sunday bonding time. What we usually did before was, we just go out and play and eat. Fine, he plays and I eat. ;) And yesterday was no different, 'cept that "I" also did much of the "play" part. We had some snacks first. Fortunately, I had some discounted vouchers for Dunkin Donuts DunkCoctions. I was hoping I could try their Coffee or Mocha drink but kiddo wanted the strawberry one. And since it was his day, mommy did what she does best -- give in.             strawberry it is. (Image from Google) Good thing, I'm a sucker for anything strawberry-flavored too. :) Must be the genes. perhaps. After the eating part, we went straight to the GameZone area. We had a handful of WOF (World of Fun) tokens, which we won during the JolliEaster Event at Parkmall, so we just went and played on almost every game machine. One of the interaction ga...

...things that changed

...when i became a mom 2. i became a shopaholic . (slight) for kid stuff! trust me, LOTS of things changed when i became a mom. but never in a million years did i imagine this to be included in that list. i was never into shopping before. i even had some personal stuff and clothes from waaay back in college that i still use and wear, all because i don't shop for new ones AND i don't have the luxury to do so. but the thing is, when it comes to E (ezra) i tend to spend way MORE than i can afford! like i said, i was never into shopping before so im used to having just a little cash everytime i go out. and guess what? i didn't have any problem with it whatsoever. but now, i realized, a little cash won't do no good everytime we go out. i need to have at least more than enough for transpo, food, kiddie rides, rent for car/stroller ride, snacks here and there, and for some random kid stuff/clothes/toy that we might lay our eyes on along the way. (heh!) so with all tha...

Look at me Mom!

isn't he adorable? :D

Ezra turned TWO!

january 27, 2009 a very late post. and a very short one. :) ...with his balloons ...with his cake ... with his first drumset (mommy's gift ;D) HAPPY, HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY LOVE!!! LAB YOU SO MUCH! :)) MWAAAAH!

Ezra on a Donkey

Like i mentioned here , we went malling the other day. It was A Saturday, which was supposed to be a working day, but SuperMom insisted on staying at home in the morning and chilling at the mall the rest of the day. We checked the terraces when we got there (which was a pretty nice place), had dinner and played at the timezone. Ezra had so much fun trying on every ride he can get his butt on. and we got this one on the record...

A mock call

usually, when im at work, i call the house at least 3 times in a day. mostly to check on ezra. and if im lucky enough, ezra agrees to get the phone and talk to me. but what i get are just 'hello...", "mommy...", and the most popular response, "bye!" so last night, we were making these mock calls. so i won't get all bye's whenever i call... :)

No Trick, All Treats!

october 31, 2008. ezra's first trick-or-treat. (im not sure if people saw him as a "small devil' or the "little red riding hood" :>) (little red riding hood, is that you?) at the last minute, we got ezra a costume. as expected, most costumes really cost a fortune (at least for me). i didn't really think of buying him one before the actual trick-or-treat 'coz i figured i could just use some stuff that my siblings used in the past years. (check out the eyebrows...we wanted to outline and thicken his brows to make it look more "devilish", but after one try he wouldn't let us touch the other one!) unfortunately, not a single costume was found. we got one that'll fit a teenager but not a 1+ yr old toddler! can't even find a store in the area that still sells the damn pumpkin. thank God, my dad found one that very day. (the lighting on the phone camera made his face turn/look red, another "devilish" effect) so we headed of...

A fair CUT

late post : October 30, 2008 ezra got his second haircut today. :) he got his first one months ago. and since im a super-busy-MOM, i wasn't able to spare some time to bring him to the salon. bad mommy... then recently, when i noticed that his bangs were already covering and touching his eyes, i swore id bring him there asap. so this afternoon, when everyone at work was holding there small meeting, i sneaked out and brought ezra out for a haircut. :) now so much fresher aye? :) check out the side view. he was often mistaken for a baby girl before but now, he looks so "manly"(binata) already. i feel like i'm losing my baby already... :( ps: im so busy lately that i wasn't able to take "good quality" pics of his new look. hence, the bad pics and the late post as well.

Hugs and some

did i ever tell you that being a mom is the best thing eveeeerrr?!?! well, if i did, allow me to say this again...it is INDEED the BEST(eeesssst!) thing ever! when you're a (single) mom, and you go home at night stressed and burned out from too much work, the last thing you need is a whining kid and crappy home, right? that's exactly how i initially felt last night. i had initially planned the day to start with an early in and end with a coffee break along with some friends somewhere quite and relaxing. i've been planning for the last couple of days to go out and unwind a bit. Not that i didn't wanna come home early but its just that ive been so distracted lately that i can't focus on anything at all. Even ezra can sense it too. anyway, my friends cannot make it (it was a crashed invite), so left with no choice i went home immediately. i went looking for ezra the minute i arrived. i saw him crying and whining over something with some kids at my grandma's house....
